The figure was surprising because Boston draws the best, fittest, and most experienced runners in the world. If Boston has a 13-percent rate of hyponatremia, what is it at other marathons?

    they recommend you drink 400 to 800 ml/hr (13.5 to 27 fluid ounces)

  13. Why can’t you just point out the mistake politely - there are perfectly intelligent people out there who don’t know how long a marathon is. Personally, I’ve run 10 of them… and I’d have preferred most to have been 24 miles 🙂

  15. yeah i used them before. i used them once a few weeks before the marathon and they seem to have made me tired. I didn’t think it was the gel packs at that time. but then i took some during the marathon and it really messed up my performance. I would say check out how they work for you multiple times before deciding if you should use them during a marathon. good luck!


  16. I run cross country and track too, but a marathon is another thing entirely. While during practice for cross country the maximum, extremely maximum distance is eight miles, a marathon is a massive 24 miles, a feat which takes a lot more stamina.

  18. shit i got adhd, i run track and xc, alls i need is a few glasses of water bfor i run and im good to go, i hyper through my whole run, that about the only adantage to adhd =p
