THE DRIVE OF FUN!

It’s fund drive time, laaaaaaadees and gentledudes. You’ve bee listening all year and freeloading, and now it’s your responsibility to own up, move out of your parent’s basement, erase the 0 you drew on your W-4 where it says “Enter 1 in this box if no one else can claim you as a dependent,” and give something back to the station that’s been pumping music into your life every night from 10 until 5 in the morning (you party animal…). Look! A big button:

Also, if you pledge more than 25 bucks, we send you a wicked KRTU NocTrans T-shirt. And nothing says indie cred like a local college radio station tee, right? Here’s what they look like:

Ooooh, urban!

Ooooh, urban!

That’s worth 25 bucks right? (Come on, 25 bucks is like a pizza and a show. You can swing that.) Open your wallet, open your heart, and open your ears for tonight’s tunes.

Thanks for your support, but most of all, thank you for listening.

Werewolf Bar Mitzvah! Spooky! Scary!

It’s Friday the 13th, Ladies and Gentlemen. Which means I finally get to do the dark as the devil’s soul show I’ve been aching to for ages. Expect minor keys, dark beats, frightening sound effects, surreal themes, and hard-hitting terror of all kinds.

Also, I’m using this show to debut some of the sounds I hope to bring to the program more often. Listen for dubstep, grime, hardcore, jungle, drum and bass, and all kinds of other underground sounds. And tell me what you think. Do these have a place among the poppy cheer and blissful frenzy that often permeates my show? I’d like to think so, but if not, we can probably work out a compromise.

In the meantime, enjoy the darkness of these tunes. and OH MY GOD LOOK OUT BEHIND YOU HE’S GOT A KNIFE!!!!

…just kidding!

…or am I?

Jason listens to The Distance... so should you. Or else.
